Well the time is finally arriving as we leave 4 days from today. I can't believe after talking rather obsessively about it for the past 6 months we will be leaving for South Africa on Monday. After several calls to the South African Consulate we finally received our visas and passports in the mail today. Last Friday we went to Cedar Falls and met some students that had already been to Port Elizabeth. We also met the other girl from UNI who is going to NMMU named Kristin. It was a lot of fun and we learned a lot of helpful tips from the people who had already been there. They brought lots of cool pictures and had lots of stories to tell us.
I'm getting really excited to go, not to mention it was 73 degrees in Port Elizabeth today. We have slowly been packing and we are getting close to being done. I must say that I am impressed with Alyssa; I think she only has five pairs of shoes! We also did a Walmart run and bought every over the counter drug known to man. Hopefully nothing happens but if it does we have the meds.
We don't know for sure if we will have internet or not in our apartments. We will figure that out when we get there. We also don't know our mailing address yet but we will let you know. We will try to post pictures and videos as often as we can. Just warning you in advance, you WILL hear about the food I am eating and will most likely see pictures. See you in Africa....
